Ivo Renkens
Technician
Ivo Renkens joined the De Ridder group and became part of Utrecht Sequencing Facility (USEQ) in 2019 , switching from Kloosterman group. He is a senior technician with an interest in technology in the lab. After finishing his masters in Neurogenetics at the VU in Amsterdam he started sequencing for the UMC Utrecht in 2009; first focusing on Sanger sequencing, later Next Generation Sequencing with Solid and Illumina. Finally, he became an expert in Oxford Nanopore's long read sequencing, a role he still performs in the De Ridder group and for USEQ.
