Carlos Garcia Fernandez
PhD Student
Carlos completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering at UI1, followed by a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where his thesis focused on protein interface prediction using neural networks and deep learning to model structural variants in genomics. Leveraging his expertise in AI, he aims to develop foundation models that can be applied in the clinic to improve patient care.
